Have you ever heard about PKCZ before ? If you don’t you need to review your music again, and if you’re a fan of Japanese music..guysss you need to do your homework 🙂
PKCZ is a collective group based in Japan founded in 2014 by DJ Makidai, DJ Daruma, Verbal, and Hiroyuki Igarashi. I don’t know much about the rest other than Verbal’s face at first but since I’m keen to know something thats visually unique I click on the music videos. PKCZ is not playing around in the music game, they previously collaborated with Method Man from Wu-Tang Clan. These days its hard to know the predecessors, because they don’t have social media, so its a bit hard to find the archive of them on SNS :). I knew Method Man through CL’s Lifted, than I searched about Wu-Tang Clan. So here’s the thing 🙂 I love music that’s unique right (?) something different mixing the old age and new age. Actually PKCZ did amazing collaboration build the bridge between the east and western culture. The title of the song their song is called INTO THE CIRCLE, they also collaborated with EXILE THE SECOND. If you look at the Music Video I really appreciate the Music Video from Japan, and South Korea, because they really all in, for their music video, my favourite is actually the futuristic image.
Moreover PKCZ is known to collaborate with their label member the EXILE TRIBE, I know that a lot of people love South Korean boy group because they are younger 🙂 but I love them too, I just not picking anything, I’m a fan of everything :). So far I’m confident that the thing that I’m a fan of have already been so under-rated but going big in the end, like Verbal’s line AMBUSH I’ve been loving the brand for a while and now they’re going big with DIOR HOMME 🙂
So anyway my favourite song from PKCZ is actually everything, both visually and their flow 🙂 first X-RAY, PLAY THAT, actually they’ve work with well known DJ like Afrojack, and they’ve performed in amazing festival such as ULTRA SINGAPORE in 2017. I could say that PKCZ vibes is similar to Black Eyed Peas that I really love 🙂 they’re unique and experimental with their music 🙂
The fact that I also learned about sub genre of hip-hop like trap making me realised that there is different sub-culture on everything, and its unique 🙂 their approach is differs 🙂 their recent released Bow Down featured the most love our uncle Snoop
The beats of the song was made by Yultron a Korean-American producer based in LA, their also featured Elly or goes by the name CRAZY BOY from J Soul Brothers.
“to the west bow down..to the east bow down” – BOW DOWN
The song also involve 88rising productions, I think 88rising is doing well in promoting Eastern music to the Western market, simply because actually 88rising didn’t remove the brand identity of the artist when they got debuted. For example Rich Brian known to rap in English before he debuted does he still rapping in English, but they still keep their artist who rap in their mother tongue like Higher Brothers, Kris Wu still rapping in their mother tongue. And its cool to see artist like Snoop Dogg and Method Mad release a music with two different cultures, even Kanye West, Pharrell Williams also did that with Teriyaki Boyz, in which Verbal also affiliated with the group 🙂
Long story short since I got homesick a lot music helps me to fight against it, actually music teach me about accepting other people race, religion etc 🙂 they even got my faith became stronger 🙂
